Marc’s Dogs

Sgt. Marc James Rothmel, brother of Palm Beach Row co-owner Blake Rothmel, was just 33 when he lost his battle with post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and addiction. Marc was a decorated Army veteran with a Bronze Star for heroism in Iraq, but upon completing his service, PTSD began to take its toll. Blake and Marc’s father, Ken, believe if Marc had been able to receive a certified therapy dog during his struggles, the calming presence of such a K9 friend could have made a difference. In honor of Marc and other veterans still waiting for a trained four-legged companion, Blake and Ken founded Marc’s Dogs, a nonprofit group working to fund the specialized and expensive training to allow more dogs to become potentially life-saving companions for our deserving vets.
